My treatment consisted of 6 sessions with Dr. Bonato and she is a great facilitator of Ketamine therapy. She is kind, caring, easy to talk to and listens to your story. Ketamine should be used as a tool in conjugation with therapy to help you work through your journey. You're able to build a trusting relationship with Dr. Bonato that will put you at ease with your treatment. The mainstream medical and mental health fields are hesitant about this form of treatment but research is out there since the year 2000 about its efficacy. My treatment went well and I did not have any side effects during and or after the sessions other than getting back to my baseline. I researched Ketamine for over a year before deciding to try it out my only regret is not doing it sooner because it would have helped me heal before hitting rock bottom and going through a horrible experience with our current mainstream medical and mental health field. Dr. Bonato's environment is welcoming and laid back and the treatment will assist you in your journey. My Depression, anxiety were more manageable after my last session and they came down to baseline from severe. My SI symptoms have also disappeared. Dr. Bonato said that my mood was better than when I had started and she was not pushy for the 7th and 8th session. She is great to work with!

I have been dealing with major depressive disorders since I was 11 years old (I am 30 now). Complete with 19 years of self harm, suicide attempts and a constant low mood. I didn't think there was a way id ever be able to get even temporary relief from the hopelessness that consumed my entire life. I've been on dozens of different psychiatric medications throughout my life with little to no relief. I heard doctors were using ketamine for treatment resistant depression and it was supposed to be a high success rate. I began researching clinics that performed the treatment. That's how I found Ketamend of Michigan (ketamine injections) Dr Bonato has been beyond amazing. She's extremely knowledgeable and genuinely compassionate. Im still working towards bettering my mental health thru the injections and talk therapy, but I'm finally finding some relief from the constant depression that consumed my life. I wish I could talk to every single person struggling with depression and tell them how much my whole life has transformed since starting this treatment. That is not an understatement. First lets start with the basics, Dr. Bonato is fantastic! Trustworthy, supportive, talks you through every step so there's no surprises. She's an emergency medicine physician so there's no one else I would feel safer with. She provides a safe and comfortable environment with no pressure to go through with this treatment. Just like any other treatment for mental health lets acknowledge that people can receive the same treatment and have different outcomes. I'm here to tell you mine in this short(ish) review. I've been depressed for as long as I can remember (in my 30's) I always thought it was situational you know, "I'll be happy when...." type of thinking. it wasn't. I've never been able to truly experience happiness or joy and while I'm grateful for everything I have I didn't realize I never felt those emotions fully until I started ketamine treatments. I just did my 4/6 initial treatments. I was desperate to find something to change my thinking process from negative to positive. I started noticing little changes in my thinking patterns after the 2nd treatment. So if you don't feel anything after the first don't give up. I am truly astonished that I feel this good. I'm experiencing gratitude for everything small like the tree in my front yard to big like being alive. For the first time since I can remember I now wake up GRATEFUL to be alive instead of angry that I didn't pass in my sleep. I drank a cup of tea and was SMILING because it was such a simple cozy moment that brought me peace. My biggest advice is to detach yourself from any expectation you have, it's best to not put so much pressure on yourself to have a specific experience because then you'll be disappointed that you didn't have said experience (I did this my first treatment). You can read all the reviews bad and good from people who have gone through this treatment at various clinics, but you won't know until you try it yourself. Take the first step and make your consultation and just ask yourself "what if this works for me?"
