I am very thankful that Dr. Caldwell, an Anesthesiologist Dr. with years of experience decided to go into providing Ketamine Integrative Therapy Treatments. Before I moved to Ohio I had Ketamine Injection Therapy via Ketamine Intramuscular Injections, and they were very helpful for my PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder, but unfortunately because I was getting shots instead of IV, I developed a rare reaction and had to stop the treatments. Two years later, my symptoms from PTSD and MDD were getting bad enough that I looked into Ketamine IV treatments, and although a Psychiatrist I met with felt IV would likely be a safe route, until Dr. Caldwell opened his practice I was unable to find anyone who felt medically secure enough to take the risk treating me. When I contacted Dr. Caldwell, he knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him what type of reaction I'd had previously, and new exactly how to mitigate if not eliminate the risks, and trusted me enough to know that my mental symptoms were severe enough that I understood the risk and it was worth it for me. That meant so much to me. Suffering from mental disorders destroys healthy brain connectivity, making it that much harder to get better, Ketamine assisted therapy provides the neural environment for healthy connections to be made more easily, with the help of a therapists and the tools they provide. A special note regarding intramuscular Ketamine versus IV Ketamine, besides IV Ketamine being safer in general simply because Ketamine is caustic to the skin and most likely the reason I developed the adverse reaction in the first place, receiving IV Ketamine was much less jarring going into it which I feel allowed me to better guide the experience altogether and use therapy tools learned. I really cannot recommend Mindset Integrative Ketamine Care highly enough. The office was really nice and comfortable, and Dr. Caldwell was very kind and put me at ease. It was a great and much needed experience.
