Evolve Psychiatry — Ketamine Clinic in Albany, NY

My new prescriber, jessica nicola is absolutely amazing, kind, asks questions, knows her stuff, one smart cookie to one smart cookie she really, really helped me and I only just had my intake appointment. Evolve pretty much makes me believe that there is not only good mental health care still out there, but good people too. ❤️

My therapist recommended Evolve, unaware they have one Dr who must prescribe for literally hundreds of patients. After waiting almost six weeks to get an appointment and doing testing, I saw the Dr who did not go over any of the testing and prescribed an antidepressant based on my having taken it 40 years ago, despite my concerns. The side effects such as insomnia were severe and started a few weeks in. I called to move up my appt, but was told my only option was to stop taking it, appointments can not be changed. I stayed the course and suffered another month barely sleeping until my first on line appt.where I waited 45 minutes before the Dr joined the session. We spoke for maybe ten minutes and I was prescribed another med without any discussion of what it was or possible side effects. It felt like the Dr was more concerned with getting back on his schedule and certainly not me! The side effects this time were much worse including suicidal thoughts and exacerbating my OCD. ( I found out later this medication is not recommended for anyone with OCD for this very reason! ) Again I called to speak to the Dr and was told to stay the course or stop taking it. but appointments apparently can never under any circumstances be changed. I felt I had no choice but to stop taking it for fear of hurting myself and in the end cancelled my follow up appt as I felt they didn’t care about me or what I was experiencing. Evolve to me just felt like a money making drug mill. An expensive Walmart for mental health! Evolve might be fine once the right medication was found, but their model in my opinion is not conducive to the process of getting to that point. I wish I would have just went to my PC who knows me and would have been available during this crucial phase to find the best fit.

All around welcoming and good experience

I had wonderful experience for the first time. I went to first visit and provided urine screen and had my appointment over phone which was wonderful. I like my psychiatrist and am very pleased. I can now have someone to talk to regularly and refill my medications. Sara Mahmud is awesome
