I came into Genesis Ketamine Center in Ft. Lauderdale feeling extremely hopeless and depressed. I’ve now completed 6 sessions of oral therapy and it’s incredible how much better I feel now. I did an incredible amount of research before starting ketamine infusions for my pain condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I was still extremely nervous at my first infusion, because while googling, there are no clear cut responses to “what does a ketamine infusion feel like.” Most answers are “it varies for each person.” I like to know what to expect for any medical procedure with no surprises. I had a lot of scary feelings and uncertainty. Doctor Grodofsky also shared that results for pain patients vary and I may or may not get the desired results, but recommended the treatment in hopes that it would make a difference in my current pain level. I am so glad that he recommended Genesis. Joe and Lisa are absolutely amazing. The phenomenal expertise and care they showed made every experience for me less scary and I truly looked forward to having my infusions. They answered every question on every visit and every email. I don’t know if my experience with infusions would have been so fantastic had I gone to a different center, because the superb care I received was so incredible. My experience with ketamine was extremely positive. I describe the treatment as a tolerable medical procedure. After the first infusion, I was much less nervous because I knew what to expect and knowing Lisa and Joe were there monitoring me relieved my nervousness. My average pain level that once was an 8 or 9, is now steady at a 4.5. I have not had a flare in 6 weeks. And although that number did not decrease to zero, the pain I experienced on an average day was intense. The ketamine has knocked that pain down. A simple hug alone used to cause pain, whereas my pain sensitivity to touch has now decreased. I don’t know how long my relief will last and I know I may need ketamine boosters in the future, but this was the best decision I have ever made. I don’t remember what pain-free feels like, since I was diagnosed in 2010, but this is absolutely the best I have felt in over a decade. But most importantly, the team at Genesis made this experience better than I could have imagined. I highly recommend this for anyone who could benefit from ketamine.

Don't hesitate to call if you need Genesis' help. I truly wish I found them sooner. Dr. Grodofsky is uniquely knowledgeable about this kind of treatment and has a sympathetic and optimistic bedside manner that is second to none. Lisa and Joe are clearly experts in Ketamine patient care and always go above and beyond to create a comfortable treatment experience, whether it was my first time or 5th time. It can be scary to seek treatment for mental health and they make you feel welcome and hopeful the second you walk in the door. The technology used to schedule appointments, provide answers to medical questions and prepare for therapy is the most efficient I have ever seen from a doctor's office. And most importantly, Genesis' infusion therapy has been life-changing - genuinely - in only a few weeks. I can confidently say that the Genesis team quite literally saved my life.

This was such a worthwhile experience. The therapy sessions themselves are a chance to feel completely immersed in a journey into your own mind. The after effects, though—I went through a very painful breakup during my therapy. I am rebuilding and healing; I believe the ketamine therapy helped me create new ways of viewing traumatic events and triggers. I feel sadness but I feel hope and gratitude. Thank you so much!
